M2 - Target audience for Jurassic World
Summary: The darker colours used on the blu ray cover appeal to teenagers and above because kids are attracted to brighter colours and therefore it is not meant to appeal to them. The facial expressions of the man and the dinosaurs connotes determination, concentration and a bit of anger which shows that the film involves fight scenes, chase scenes and as the dinosaurs look ready to kill it shows that the film involves killing scenes and this will not be suitable for kids and it instead appeals to teenagers and above. The age rating is 12 so clearly the design of the blu ray cover is made to appeal to people aged 12 and over. Everything on this cover suggests action and so that means that this cover is mainly aimed at people who enjoy action films.
Distribution
Universal Studios decided to make a fourth film in the franchise (Jurassic). The script writers where hired and they created a draft script for the new Jurassic film, once they had an outline script, it had to be read and then it was decide that the film would be made because the reader thought it was worth making and that it would return a lot of profit. Then they got a production crew together of Colin Trevorrow the director, many actors and actresses like Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard and the rest of the crew to develop the idea and start creating the film. When they finished, the film was sent to the studio and they had to have licensing agreements with there distribution companies, the main English distribution company Universal Pictures UK showed the new Jurassic World film to buyers that represented cinemas in the UK like Cineworld, Light Cinema, Vue and many more so that they would eventually show the film at the cinemas for the public to see. The deals where agreed between the cinemas and Universal Pictures UK and so the prints where sent to the cinemas so the film could be shown to the public, it was released on the 12th June 2015 and the film was last shown around the 20th September in cinemas and the DVD and Blu-Ray was released 19th October 2015. The film is currently not on Netflix as it is a new film although it has been suggested to be on there in 2016. It also hasn't been shown on Sky movies yet but that also has been confirmed to happen in 2016. The film is distributed as a DVD, Blu-ray, iTunes sales and other digital mediums. On the first week of the DVD release there was £3 million of blu ray and DVD sales.
It was a complicated process for everyone involved especially the production company as they had to work very hard to get this done and they had to push around a lot of paperwork and deal with everything to do with this film.
This process was very expensive and therefore they needed to make the film incredibly good in order to make profit on the film. $150,000,000 was spent on the film and the return gross in cinemas was $1,581,273,840 which was a massive profit. With the Dvd sales on top so far the return gross all together is just above £1.6 billion.

Teaser trailer:
Billboards:
The audience is drawn to this film from seeing billboards and noticing the certain colours within the poster and this attracts them, also the star names on the posters and seeing the stars on trailers attracts the audience because they will like films that have a certain actor in for example in Jurassic World one of the main characters is Chris Pratt and he was also in Guardians of the Galaxy and many people enjoyed that film and therefore think that this film will be just as good if not better.
Also because it is a franchise film, if people have seen the last three Jurassic films then they will want to see the new film if they enjoyed the other films and if they where entertained.
The film is also advertised by people seeing merchandise in many different shops, for example.....
